Alex Weenink

Alex is a multidisciplinary creative practitioner working across theatre, poetry, and visual art as an artist, performer, and cultural manager. His practice is often site-responsive, exploring the politics and poetics of urban and natural spaces, as well as themes of emotion, expression, and human connection. He is the Artistic Director of Chewing Productions, a network of artists focused on developing innovative theatrical work shaped by contemporary realities. His work is rooted in socially engaged processes, hybrid forms, and a deep engagement with natural environments.

Alex is currently exploring poetry and nature as parallel spaces of escape and confrontation. His work navigates the tension between withdrawal and direct engagement, using writing and landscape as tools to face underlying emotional and psychological states.

During his residency at Bored Peach Club, he is focusing on organising and refining his existing body of poetry, creating the space for slow, reflective development away from everyday demands. From there, he will begin transforming selected works into new forms, including performance, visual formats, and experimental outputs such as zines or installations.

His process moves from solitude to expression, grounding personal writing within broader artistic and spatial contexts.
