Clark Stoeckley

Clark Stoeckley is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans photography, painting, performance, design, video, and public intervention. His recent work includes photographing stray cats and creating geometric abstract murals, while his broader career has centered on using art as a vehicle for social engagement and political critique.

As a courtroom artist, Clark illustrated and authored The United States vs. Private Chelsea Manning: A Graphic Account Inside the Courtroom, documenting one of the most significant whistleblower trials of the modern era. His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the International Spy Museum in Washington DC, Pratt Manhattan Gallery, apexart, Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, and Hartware Medien Kunst Verein in Dortmund, among others.

Clark’s work has also been featured in publications and media outlets such as ARTnews, VICE, Hyperallergic, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, MSNBC, PBS, and the Associated Press. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Art & Graphic Design at the American University of Kuwait.

For Clark, art is not the final destination but a tool for pursuing social justice. His practice connects utopian ideals with everyday life, using humor, public engagement, and accessible visual language to encourage dialogue and inspire change. Often working outside traditional gallery systems, he creates projects meant to exist in streets, online spaces, and within communities themselves.

His work explores issues including migrant workers’ rights, whistleblower persecution, police brutality, white supremacy, voter disenfranchisement, economic inequality, and climate change. Through shifting personas, uniforms, and performative gestures, Clark examines the systems and power structures shaping contemporary life while inviting viewers to imagine alternatives grounded in empathy and collective responsibility.

At Bored Peach Club, Clark looks forward to engaging with the local environment and community while continuing to explore how socially engaged art can operate across cultures and public spaces.
