Join us from the 12th to the 24th for a popup exhibition by Stuart Dods. Featuring printed works on fabric, the exhibition showcases a curated selection of Dods’ works.
About Stuart Dods:
Stuart Dods, born in 1995, is a multifaceted South African artist known for his painting, sculpture, music, and photography. Growing up in Hermanus, his artistic passion was shaped by the town’s vibrant working-class community. Stuart began showcasing his work with Rossouw Modern Art Gallery and chose a path of self-guided artistic exploration. In 2015, he established “The Ice Factory” studio in Cape Town’s Bo Kaap, a space previously held by the influential artist Bastiaan van Stenis.
In 2018, Stuart apprenticed with renowned artist Beezy Bailey, leading to a creative partnership and collaborative painting journeys across Africa and Europe. Stuart reopened “The Ice Factory” in 2022 with his debut solo exhibition, “Pipe Dream.” The studio has since become a vital hub in Cape Town’s cultural scene, hosting diverse events and performances.
